Jealousy can start small but end up overtaking you to the point of no return?
I want to start off by apologizing for the delay. This week was an interesting one to say the least. Always be sure to take care of your health no matter what.
But, now what we are all here for the word of the week. At a time when social media is so popular. I have found that it is very easy to covet, compare or be jealous of someone else and what they have accomplished.
This week The Lord led me to the story of Cain and Abel in Genesis. Quick synopsis of their story Cain was the first born of Adam and Eve. Next to be born was Abel, the one who was favored by The Lord.
So much so that it angered Cain to the point of no return. Cain did the unthinkable. He murdered his own brother. He allowed jealousy to overtake him to take his own brother's life.
There was something that God said to Cain in Genesis that really stuck out to me. Genesis 4:6-7 NIV Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? 7. If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.”
God has a lane for all of us. We all can be accepted or blessed by the Lord as long as we are doing what is right. As long as we are doing the things he told us to do and not what we see other people doing. There will always be the enemy in your ear wanting the comparison to be so loud that it leads you to stay out of your own lane. But, choose you and your purpose today.
Comment below and tell me when something you are good at! God has a plan and a purpose for all of us but the only way to achieve it is by staying in your lane.
